Heritage

A history worth its weight.

The Portugieser was born in the late 1930s, when two Portuguese merchants asked IWC for a wristwatch with the precision of a marine chronometer. The Rattrapante variant, first introduced in 1995, added a split-seconds chronograph for timing simultaneous events — a haute horlogerie complication in IWC's most iconic dress sport silhouette.
